Andy Payton's AP10 Foundation
WIth 200 goals in 509 games for Burnley, Hull City, Celtic, Barnsley, Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Town, I enjoyed a successful career and lived the dream as a professional footballer. But life after football brought plenty of challenges and having successfully battled my demons, I want to help others overcome their struggles. That is why I created the AP10 Foundation.
The AP10 Foundation aims to help people of all ages and seeks to bring communities together.
My mission is to help those who have suffered rejection in sport, to support people who have been and currently going through addictions and to create equal opportunities for everyone involved.
Our main focus is on utilising sport and wellbeing to bring personal improvement, making broad use of talking therapies.
Hopefully I can inspire people and help them turn their lives around as I did myself almost ten years ago after struggling mentally after my 21 year Football career came to an end.
I enjoyed fantastic support from fans in my career and now want to give back as much as I can.
"The best way to face up to life's problems is by working together to overcome them and come out stronger"
